Job Summary: We're seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Intelligence
Manager with over 10 years of experience to lead our BI initiatives. The ideal candidate will have
a strong background in managing complex data models, developing insightful reports, and
performing in-depth data analysis. You'll play a crucial role in transforming raw data from
diverse sources into actionable intelligence, empowering our teams to make informed business
decisions.
Key Responsibilities
• Data Sourcing & Integration: Work extensively with various data sources, including
Data Lakes, ERP Data, SCADA Data, and other operational and business systems, to
extract, transform, and load data for BI purposes.
• Data Model Management: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data
models that support various business intelligence needs. Ensure data accuracy,
integrity, and optimal performance within Power BI and underlying data sources.
• Management Dashboard Development: Lead the creation of interactive and user-
friendly management dashboards and reports, primarily using Power BI, to provide
meaningful insights for strategic decision-making. Ensure that reporting incorporates
best practices in visual graphics.
• Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and
anomalies. Leverage Python programming for advanced analytical tasks and data
manipulation. Translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable
recommendations for stakeholders.
• Database Management & Optimization: Oversee the management and optimization of
databases that feed BI solutions, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor a team of BI developers and
analysts (if applicable, adjust based on your team structure). Foster a collaborative
environment and promote best practices in BI, data quality, and continuous
improvement.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various business units (e.g., Sales,
Marketing, Operations, Finance) to understand their data requirements and deliver
tailored BI solutions.
• Strategy & Roadmap: Contribute to the development and execution of the overall BI
strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and incorporating
principles of quality management.
• Process Improvement: Apply methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to optimize BI
processes, improve data quality, and enhance the efficiency of reporting and analysis
functions.
What You'll Bring
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, data
warehousing, data modelling, reporting, and analysis.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Data Science,
Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Technical Proficiency:
o Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI, including Power Query (M
language), DAX, and Power BI service/report server administration.
o Strong expertise in SQL and Database Management of relational and
potentially non-relational databases.
o Proven experience working with large and complex datasets from various
sources, including Data Lakes (e.g., Azure Data Lake, AWS S3, HDFS), ERP
systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), and SCADA systems.
o Proficiency in Python & R programming for data manipulation, statistical
analysis, and integration with BI tools.
o Proven experience in designing and managing complex data models (e.g., star
schemas, snowflake schemas).
o Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and tools.
o Demonstrated ability to create compelling and effective visual graphics for data
representation and storytelling.
• Methodological Knowledge:
o Basic to advanced knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and their application
in process improvement and data quality.
o Strong understanding of Quality Management frameworks as they relate to data
and BI solutions.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye
for detail and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to
present complex technical information clearly and persuasively to non-technical
stakeholders.
• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to influence, guide,
and motivate teams.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to
translate business questions into data requirements and BI solutions.
• Project Management: Lead and manage application development projects from
conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality
standards. This includes defining project scope, planning resources, and mitigating
risks.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various departments and stakeholders
to understand their application needs and translate them into technical solutions.
